The best and safest time to hang Holiday lights is when the weather isn’t too cold or wet. Climbing a slippery ladder onto your roof is unsafe! It can be an exciting time, preparing for the holidays but if the weather calls for hot cocoa and interior decorating, that's okay!

A few tips to keep in mind before you begin:
Only use outdoor lights outside and indoor lights inside. Check the box of lights before purchasing to be sure that you have selected the right type of lights.
Try to steer clear of any power lines outside while hanging decorations and lights.
Avoid heaters, fireplaces, candles and any flammable items - this can be a fire hazard!
Always have a partner to hang lights! It is important to have an extra person around in case of any accidents.
For every 4 ft of ladder height, space the ladder 1 ft away from the house for a sturdy set-up. This will decrease the likelihood of falling or the ladder becoming unstable.
Do not use nails or staples to hang lights on house. Check for gutter clips as an easy way to attach lights to your home!
